Capture Feedback by Email in Productboard
Forward customer email to the workspace’s unique Productboard address. Productboard attributes the feedback to the original sender and assigns the forwarding user as note owner.
Before you start: Ask a Maker to locate the integration address. Check whether forwarded threads contain sensitive material that should not be collected.
Worked example: A support colleague forwards a request for scheduled exports. The desired result is a note attributed to the customer, with the colleague responsible for follow-up.
Step-by-step guide
Locate the destination
Open Main menu → Settings → Integrations → Email. Copy the generated workspace address rather than inventing an alias at Productboard.
Save a clear contact
Add that address to your email contacts with the workspace name. Keep personal aliases in your email client; the Productboard address itself is not customizable.
Forward one request
Use a representative email with the original sender information. Remove unrelated quoted material before sending.
Check the resulting note
Open the new feedback item on an insights board. Verify customer attribution, owner, content and any relevant attached image.
Expand routing carefully
Use Add integration if you need another address with its own tags. For Gmail forwarding setup, complete the confirmation link that arrives as a Productboard note.
Common mistakes
Enabling broad forwarding without a sample
First check attribution and content. A mail rule can otherwise fill the research repository with unrelated conversations.
