Jira Product Discovery: Capture Teams feedback
Capture Teams feedback for Jira Product Discovery with Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams and the message action Comment in Jira.
The documented workflow uses a paid Teams account and an authorized Jira Cloud connection. Select the intended discovery idea carefully; the message action’s name still uses Jira issue terminology.
Step-by-step guide
Install and authorize the right app
In Microsoft Teams, open Apps, find Jira Cloud and Add it to the appropriate context. Follow the permission and sign-in prompts for the intended Atlassian account. Confirm the paid Teams prerequisite and any organization app-installation policy.
Choose the message and destination
Find the specific feedback message and identify the matching discovery idea. For example, a sales teammate’s note about export-error visibility should support that problem, rather than an unrelated request for scheduled reporting.
Use the native capture action
Hover over the conversation, open More actions and select Comment in Jira. Enter the insight context, choose the appropriate space and select the target idea under the work-item selector. Choose Post comment to submit.
Inspect the result before repeating
Open the destination idea and verify the feedback and context arrived as intended. For a new idea, use Create issue in Jira instead and select the discovery space and Idea work item. Do not assume every Teams channel message is automatically synced.
Common mistakes
Installing an app and assuming ongoing ingestion
The documented capture is an explicit message action. Check the destination result before treating it as evidence in a prioritization review.
