Configure Plane Email Notifications Without Losing Inbox Updates

Use Plane Profile Settings > Notifications to choose which work-item events send email. These toggles do not stop in-app Inbox notifications.

Use your own profile and review subscriptions and assignments. Current settings apply across the workspace rather than independently per project; verify controls on older self-hosted versions.

Example: keep comments and mentions enabled, disable routine property-change emails, and continue reviewing the in-app Inbox for the full activity stream.

Step-by-step guide

01

Review why you receive updates

Open a noisy work item and check whether you are its creator, assignee or subscriber. Adjust unnecessary subscriptions where appropriate rather than removing important mention alerts.

02

Open personal notification settings

Navigate to Profile Settings > Notifications. Review Property changes, State changes, Issue completed, Comments and Mentions as separate email preferences.

03

Choose the actionable email stream

Keep Comments and Mentions on when discussion needs a response. Turn off routine property-change emails if they are already reviewed in Inbox; changes save immediately.

04

Verify with another person

Ask a teammate to comment or mention you on subscribed work. Allow for batching and check both email and Inbox, remembering your own actions do not notify you.

Common mistakes

Expecting silent Inbox after disabling emails

Inbox notifications still arrive. Email toggles only change the email channel, not tracked activity inside Plane.

Where do your tickets live? (optional)

How this works

  1. We save what you typed. No AI runs on this page.
  2. You create a free account.
  3. Vantage builds a PRD and dependency-ordered tickets from it inside your own workspace.

Why ask for an account? We’re a small team, and a full generation runs a multi-step AI pipeline that costs us real money. So we tie it to a free account instead of running it anonymously. You also get to keep the result and edit it.

Your text is only used to create your project, and it stays private to your account. If you don’t sign up, we delete it after 7 days. Privacy policy
