Create a Customer Database in Fibery
Create a Company database for accounts and a separate Contact database for people. Add a relation so one account can contain several contacts.
Before you start: Use database configuration access. Agree on the account identifier and the owner of customer information before importing a large directory.
Worked example: Northwind has two interview participants and one account owner. Store Northwind once, then relate both Contacts to that Company; do not create a new company per interview.
Step-by-step guide
Create the account record type
Use + beside the customer Space and select Database. Name it Company and start with a Northwind sample.
Add stable attributes
In Fields, use + New Field for account identifier, website URL and account owner. Choose types that match the actual source data.
Separate contact identities
Create Contact with an Email field. Keep a person’s address on the contact rather than making it the company’s only identifier.
Connect the directory
Add a one-to-many relation: one Company has many Contacts, and each example Contact belongs to one Company.
Check a small real shape
Create two clearly labeled sample Contacts linked to Northwind. Open the Company to inspect the reverse collection before loading more data.
Common mistakes
Equating email domain with account identity
A group may use several domains and unrelated customers may use common mail providers. Keep a stable identifier alongside the website.
