Embed a Whiteboard in Fibery
Use Insert View inside a Document or Rich Text field and select the Whiteboard. Embedding keeps the canvas alongside the discussion without copying its contents.
Before you start: Have an existing Whiteboard and at least read access to it, plus permission to edit the destination document. Check the plan’s Whiteboard audience limits.
Worked example: An onboarding specification needs the invite-flow diagram beside its open questions. Embed the existing canvas so reviewers inspect the same diagram rather than an outdated image.
Step-by-step guide
Choose the shared source
Open the intended Whiteboard and confirm the diagram belongs with this specification. Check its audience separately from the destination Document.
Insert the View block
Open the Document, place the cursor beside the relevant section and type <<, or use /Insert View.
Select the Whiteboard
Choose the existing invite-flow Whiteboard. Avoid creating another canvas unless the discussion needs an independent diagram.
Make the canvas readable
Select the embedded block and resize it using its side and bottom handles. Keep surrounding assumptions visible.
Test the reviewer’s access
Have a reviewer open the Document and interact with the embedded canvas. Sharing a Document does not automatically share its embedded Views.
Common mistakes
Treating an embed as a permission grant
The embedded View retains its access boundary. A working author view does not prove the recipient can open it.
