Export Shortcut Workspace Stories as a CSV Snapshot
Use Export as CSV on Shortcut’s Organization and Workspace dashboard to export all Stories from one workspace. A Space or entity export provides a narrower selection.
Use an Owner or Admin account with dashboard access. Decide whether the recipient needs every Story or only a filtered project handoff before downloading.
Example: export the Billing workspace before a reporting migration, then reconcile the CSV against a known completed, unestimated and archived Story.
Step-by-step guide
Choose full workspace scope
Open the Organization and Workspace dashboard and identify the exact workspace. Use its Export as CSV option when you need all Stories, rather than an Epic’s smaller table export.
Create a scoped alternative if needed
For only one Epic, Iteration or Label, use Export as CSV above its Stories Table. For filtered work, open the Space dropdown and select Export instead.
Inspect useful snapshot fields
Open the CSV and check IDs, workflow, Team, state, estimate, timestamps and is_archived. Keep IDs as identifiers and preserve the original file before spreadsheet transformations.
Reconcile representative records
Compare a few rows with live Stories. Widen date columns and expand row height for multi-value fields. Record when the file was exported because it will not update with Shortcut.
Common mistakes
Treating export labels as one field
Story labels and Epic labels have separate export columns. Combine them deliberately instead of assuming the Story-label column includes both.
