Link a Plane Page to a Work Item’s Specification

Use Link pages on a Plane work item to attach the project or wiki page that explains its specification. The linked page appears in the item’s Pages section.

Link pages is documented as Pro functionality. You need edit access to the work item and access to the desired page; verify the feature on your installed self-hosted edition.

Example: attach Checkout rollout brief to the payment retry work item so its owner can reach scope and release criteria directly from the ticket.

Step-by-step guide

01

Verify the source page

Open the specification and check that it is the maintained version. Remove conflicting or obsolete instructions before linking the document to active implementation work.

02

Open the work-item toolbar

Open the correct work item and find Link pages in the toolbar beneath its description. Confirm the ID so a similarly named item does not receive the specification.

03

Select the page association

Click Link pages and search the project pages. Enable Show Wiki pages when the document lives in the workspace wiki, select the intended page and click Confirm.

04

Read from the linked result

Open the new entry in the work item’s Pages section. Check the page title and relevant scope, and verify that an intended collaborator has access to the document.

Common mistakes

Attaching an unrelated reference dump

Link the authoritative spec and explain any important supporting references in it, so the work item does not present several conflicting definitions.

Where do your tickets live? (optional)

How this works

  1. We save what you typed. No AI runs on this page.
  2. You create a free account.
  3. Vantage builds a PRD and dependency-ordered tickets from it inside your own workspace.

Why ask for an account? We’re a small team, and a full generation runs a multi-step AI pipeline that costs us real money. So we tie it to a free account instead of running it anonymously. You also get to keep the result and edit it.

Your text is only used to create your project, and it stays private to your account. If you don’t sign up, we delete it after 7 days. Privacy policy
