Feature Request Template for Notion (2026)
Notion databases provide a structured, searchable system for managing feature requests with custom properties, voting capabilities, and multiple views for different stakeholders. This template creates a feature request pipeline in Notion.
Use Notion database views to show different slices of feature requests to different audiences: raw requests for PMs, approved roadmap items for engineers, and status updates for requesters.

Database Properties
Create a Feature Requests database with properties: Title, Requester (text or person), Source (select: Customer/Internal/Sales/Support), Status (select: Submitted/Under Review/Approved/Planned/Delivered/Declined), Impact (select: High/Medium/Low), Effort (select: S/M/L/XL), Votes (number), Theme (select), and Decision Notes (text).
Intake Page Template
Create a template for new requests with sections: Problem Description, Current Workaround, Proposed Solution, Business Justification, and Supporting Evidence (screenshots, links). The structured format ensures PMs have enough context to evaluate without follow-up conversations.
Voting System
Use a number property for Votes and manually increment it when stakeholders support a request. Alternatively, create a relation property to a Voters database for de-duplicated voting. Sort the Board view by Votes to surface the most-requested features.
Prioritization Views
Create a Table view with formula property for RICE score: (Votes * Impact * Confidence) / Effort. Create a Board view grouped by Status for pipeline management. Create a Gallery view filtered to Approved for the public-facing roadmap.
Status Communication
When a request status changes, Notion sends notifications to page followers. Encourage requesters to follow their request page. Add a changelog toggle at the bottom of each request page to document status changes and decision rationale.
