Roadmap Template for Notion (2026)

Notion databases and timeline views provide a flexible roadmap system that works for both internal planning and stakeholder communication. This template structures your product roadmap using Notion-native features.

Create a Roadmap database with multiple views for different audiences: detailed view for the product team, high-level view for executives, and public view for customers.

Template sections

5 sections covering the complete roadmap workflow.

01

Database Structure

Create a Roadmap database with properties: Initiative (title), Quarter (select), Theme (select with colors), Status (select: Planned/In Progress/Shipped/Cancelled), Impact (select: High/Medium/Low), Owner (person), Start Date, End Date, and Description (text). Each initiative is a page with detailed specs inside.

02

Timeline View

Create a Timeline view showing initiatives as date-range bars. Color-code by Theme for a visual strategic overview. Use vertical grouping by Quarter for quarterly planning views. The Timeline view supports drag-to-resize for adjusting dates.

03

Board View for Planning

Create a Board view grouped by Status (Planned, In Progress, Shipped) for a kanban-style roadmap. Add a second Board view grouped by Quarter for quarterly planning sessions. Use filters to show only the current and next quarter.

04

Linked Views

Add linked views of the Roadmap database on team pages, filtered by owner or theme. Each team sees their slice of the roadmap without maintaining a separate document. Changes in the master database propagate to all linked views.

05

Public Roadmap

Create a filtered view showing only Shipped and In Progress items (excluding internal details). Share this view as a public Notion page. Customers can see what you are building without seeing internal prioritization details.
