Stakeholder Update Template for Notion (Free)
Stakeholder updates are the PM's primary tool for maintaining alignment without scheduling more meetings. A well-structured update in Notion saves 30 minutes of meeting time per week by giving stakeholders the information they need asynchronously.
This template is designed for weekly or biweekly project updates sent to leadership, cross-functional partners, and engineering leads.

Status Summary
Start with a one-line status: On Track, At Risk, or Blocked. Follow with a 2-3 sentence narrative that explains the status. Do not bury the lead: if the project is at risk, say so in the first line. Stakeholders scan these updates; the most important information must come first.
Key Metrics
Include a Notion database or table with 3-5 metrics relevant to the project. Show current value, target value, and trend (up/down/flat). Use Notion's color-coding to make health visible at a glance. Only include metrics that have changed or are relevant to decisions.
What Shipped This Week
Bullet list of what was completed. Be specific: "Shipped search autocomplete to 100% of users" not "Made progress on search." Link to tickets or PRDs for context. Keep to 3-5 items maximum.
Decisions Needed
List any decisions that require stakeholder input. For each, include: the decision to make, the options, the PM's recommendation, and the deadline. This is the most important section for leadership: it tells them where they need to act.
Risks and Blockers
List active risks and blockers with severity and mitigation plan. A risk is something that might happen. A blocker is something that has happened and is stopping progress. Be specific about what help you need to resolve blockers.
Next Week Plan
Brief outline of what the team will focus on next week. Include major milestones or deadlines. This sets expectations so stakeholders know what is coming.
